I have been making my way in the twittersphere and it's been so rewarding. The connections are out of this world and is making me a believer in the whole 6 degrees of seperation theory. It is definately quite addictive - especially when the journalist spirit runs deep within me- I love the story behind my followers and their great ideas. The reviews keep coming in!
More good news to share! Thanks to my good friend at Maverickwear we were able to get a show stopping review from the fabulous Rory over at Chocolate Hair Vanilla Care. This review has been in the works for a few a while (Rory wanted to be absolutely thorough in her review- just the way we like it).
So here goes! (Isn't her daughter Boo just downright adorable)
Although we are pleased as punch with the first design shown above, there are times when our needs have been a little different than the Toddler's First Satin Cap could handle. These are days when Boo is wearing puffs, an afro, or has yarn extensions in, otherwise known as her "big hair" days. That's where these Girl's Sleep Bonnets by SilkyWraps come in handy.
One of my favourite things about these caps are the structure of the caps, themselves. Unlike most silk and satin bonnets that flop over or puddle because they're so flimsy, these caps actually hold their shape. This might not seem like that big of a deal, but it really does make a difference when trying to keep a cap on at night; extra material puddling around on the pillow can easily get pulled off at night by simply rolling over (especially with little kids who seem to be all over their beds/cribs).
The Girl's Sleep Bonnet has both elastic all around the edges and a drawstring ribbon for added security for active sleepers. Again, the sleep cap can be worn with the ribbon in either the front or back (or side, if you prefer). For this cap, the ribbon can even be removed if the size of the cap works fine with just the elastic.
These caps are made from both satin charmeusse on the inside lining and cotton/polyester seersucker blend on the outside of the cap. I believe it's the stiffness of the cotton/poly blend on the outside that really helps the cap hold its shape. And I cannot tell you how much I love, love, LOVE that it is lined, so there are no seams on the inside of the cap that will rub against the hair. Even the elastic banding around the cap is also lined, to further protect the hairline.
Boo wears her Girl's Sleep Bonnet without the ribbon, as the elastic banding is plenty secure for her head size and sleep habits. This photo was taken just recently when she was wearing her "October Free Hair."
As I mentioned earlier, I've been in possession of these caps for a few months and have given them a good run for their money, including laundering (use gentle cycle), with no problems. Just like hair care products, every child's needs and sleep habits are different, but once we find something that works we stick with it. No doubt we'll be sticking with these for a while.

A Glamorous Review
I am a blog lover! I spend hours (sometimes too many) scouring the net for great blogs- from craftnistas to hairdivas and fashionistas. I came across this blogger frommy visit to another blog LOL. She was featured for her great fashion style and I just had to see all that was going on with this FashionBomb.
She is the brainchild behind the ultrafab blog The Glamorous Gleam . She was generous to review the Silky Wraps Classic Wrap and as you will see she is now a Silky believer LOL.

Wrap It Up In Style: Silky Wraps Hair Wrap Review

It is very important to tie your hair up at night before bed, and is best to do so with a silk or satin head wrap. If you really don’t like to tie your hair up, the other option is a satin pillowcase. Why not cotton you ask? Cotton will absorb all of the moisture from your tresses and causes friction leading to breakage. I don’t know about you dolls but I have the hardest time finding satin head ties that I am completely satisfied with. They either come off at night while I am sleeping or have to be tied so tight that I get a headache which also results in dents in my style. I especially have this problem with my short cut. If you have this problem as well I’ve got a solution for you, Silky Wraps!
The jewel applique on the front is just too cute!
I don’t know how I’ve gone so long without one of these babies! It is super comfortable and stays on all night. The Silky Wrap covered my nape and kept it flat, no dents in the morning like with other head ties. Since the hair is not completely covered in the top, I was able to maintain some volume. My hair was perfect when I combed it down in the morning. I’m in love!
You can also use Silky Wraps to protect your hair while lounging around the house or getting ready for a girl’s night out. You can be comfy and still be cute!

Silky Wraps Website in Full Swing
The Silky Wraps website has been up and running for about a year now and the response has been great. Fashionistas and Hair Divas all over the country are now Silky Wraps lovers. One customer even called me to meet up with her to purchase another wrap because someone had misplaced hers and she didn't think she could go another day without it!

Silky Wraps at the Lovely Strands Hair & Fashion Expo
Just wrapping up from the Lovely Strands Expo at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, March 5-6.
I had a wonderful time with the Lovely Strands team and the models from Dezign Nation (headed by the crazy but very competinent Angela Guy!). My dear hubby was right on site helping with set-up and promoting our products. My daughter Jada was one of my models and my son was also there to offer support (when he wasn't dancing to the music). My Mom provided the booth decor (check her out at http://www.julietjacobdesign.com/ )It was a total family affair!
We got raving reviews for our products. Everyone was really fascinated with our coordinating robes & wraps- modeled by our life-size mannequin Ms. Peggy (the face of Silky Wraps). She did an amazing job--people actually thought she was a mannequin.
Not only did I get to show my wraps but my handbags were featured in the fashion show. Great weekend all the way around!
